Control Valves

SECOSYS valves are designed to work in combination with SecoMeters. The SBV series valve is a motorized ball valve that ensures positive shutoff of water supplies. The valve operates using power from batteries housed in the SecoMeter to which the valve is connected. Open or closed position of an SBV is changed when a SecoMeter reverses valve input voltage polarity. Once an SBV reaches an open or closed position the valve motor turns off. Since water termination to a building is very infrequent, battery operation of the valve is more than adequate. After each valve actuation, any battery drain is quickly replenished by battery charge voltage delivered over the iDrop Network. The SECOSYS SIV series valve is a pulsed solenoid irrigation valve. The SIV only requires a short pulse of power to change positions from open to close. Once the valve position has changed no further power is required to keep the valve in position. Since a SecoMeter is only required to pulse an SIV for a fraction of a second, very little battery power is required to operate the valve. The battery charge voltage supplied to the SecoMeter over the iDrop network easily keeps up with valve actuations even if an SIV is activated many times in a day. |
